Yeah, I know. Sorry. I'm popping in.
Today, I am thankful for:
1. Maddie Spohr. Recently, the blogosphere has been abuzz with the story of Madeline Spohr, a little girl who grew wings on April 7th. It has just broken my heart. It's so stinking upfair, and illogical. I can't even begin to imagine, and my heart just hurts every time I read or hear about this story.
But, the postive in this is that the blog world has just erupted with on outpouring of love and support, both monetary and other wise. Maddie was a premie, so her family was planning to participate in the March of Dimes Walk. Their goal was to raise $3000. I just checked the page and it's at $28,103. There are currently 457 blog posts in honor of Maddie. There are people from around the country who only knew Maddie's parents through the Internet who flew across the country to be with them. There are even more people who are praying for them and hurting along with them. It's amazing. It would be far better to have Maddie here. But since she can't be, it's a tremendous thing to see how people come together. Maddie won't be forgotten.
Maddie's story has made me stop and hold Eden a little tighter, be more present in the moment and be so very thankful for what a gift I have.
There are other things I'm thankful for today, too, but that's another post for another time. I'll try to pop in more often.

February 4, 2009 - I'm back!
We've been sick all month. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!
Today, I am thankful for:
1. only one day left of my old job and a nice easy schedule with my new one
2. our friends coming over Friday night, and Mom's Night Out on Saturday, and my mom coming up on Sunday... on the other hand, dude, that's a busy weekend!
3. Josh, for being a great husband and dad....
4. getting to sit and catch up on TV tonight... although Heroes AND Battlestar stressed me out. What's up with HRG (Heroes fans)?!?!?! Bitter...
5. Reconnecting with old friends through Facebook. I love Facebook.
6. Josh being Lindsey's godfather... what an honor! And what a good oppurtunity for jokes! "Lindsey, I am your godfather....". Oh, come on... you know you thought it too...
7. Eden's crazy giggles... we have such a happy baby.

I think we figured it out. The poor baby was cold. Tonight she's sleeping with two sleepers and blanket and not a peep. Yes, I do know I just jinxed myself, thanks for asking.
Today, I am thankful for:
1. Eden, for sleeping!
2. Supportive co-workers who have wished me nothing but well when I tell them I'm quitting.
3. Easy meal planning
4. Steph posting a new Crockpot meal - pulled pork, YUMMY!
5. The upcoming pool tournament - wish Josh luck!!
6. The Learning Table and Puppy for keeping Eden occupied.
7. Clean sheets and towels.
I just spent some time poking around sittercity.com and I was really shocked at the poor choice in pictures and lack of good grammar in the posts. Not that bad grammar makes you a poor sitter, but it doesn't make me what to call you right up either. Maybe I'll too judgmental. I think this has just further convinced me to stick with family and friends for babysitting.

I'm sorry I fell off the face of the earth again... it's nothing personal. You are all lovely people. It's just that we've been sick around here lately, and frankly, I've been drowning in puke, snot, antibiotics and Motrin. I know, sounds lovely right? So now I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel (since I've only heard the baby cough about 3 times since I sat down), and I'm back in the game. I guess I failed at my resolution, but I still think this is a good idea, darn it, so I'm going to keep going!
Today, I am thankful for:
1. my boss not being a total jerk when I resigned.
2. my co-workers for being genuinely sad when I told them I was leaving. It's nice to know that people will miss you.
3. Josh for being the best husband in the world and totally holding me up through this crazy cycle of sickness. Thanks, honey. Couldn't have done it without you.
4. Eden, for being in a good mood even in spite of having a double ear infection. What a trooper!
5. the makers of antibiotics! and the doctors who gave them to us!
6. having a new job. I know a lot of people would love to be in my position right now.
7. dinner that I didn't make. Thanks, Panara!
8. Richie and Jenny for inviting us over, even though we can't go.

Today I am thankful for:
1. Lori, for making a post of her blog of what she's thankful for! Cool, Lori!
2. The roads not being too slippery on the drive to and from work today.
3. Eden, for having a good day with her grandpa, and a good night with us tonight.
4. Sonic, for making us dinner.
5. Being busy at work (for once!).
6. The BBC girls, for being chatty today and giving me something to read.
I've officially decided to give up on trying to call my daughter Sweetpea. I always forget and have to go back and edit my post and it's annoying. So, hey... my daughters name is Eden.

Today, I am thankful for:
1. Sweetpea being in a decent mood, in spite of being sick
2. Josh for helping a TON even though he is sick too - best husband ever!
3. My mom for calling to check up on us.
4. Grilled cheese sandwiches.
5. Sweetpea again, for actually napping today.
6. My dishes FINALLY being done
7. My bed, which I am about to fall into, exhausted.

January 13, 2009 and why I suck
Okay, here's the thing.... I have no excuses. I got busy, life got hectic and my daughter forgot how to sleep. All that adds up to.... me not blogging. But, I'm back at it and will do my best to keep up. I'm glad to know people like the idea though... or at least having something to read at work!! :)
Today, I am thankful for:
1. Facebook, for instant messenger
2. Tylenol and saline spray for helping out Sweetpea and letting her sleep.
3. My friends for bugging me about the blog and making me feel guilty for not keeping it up, which will make me keep it up! :)
4. Josh for always being willing to be my back up with Sweetpea.
5. A new job - but shhhhhhhhhhhh!! My boss doesn't know yet! :)
6. My dad, for being willing to switch days
7. The weather, for appearing to cooperate..... we'll see what tomorrow brings!
