The Thankful List

I had a baby this year. Babies, as they say, change everything. Having my daughter has completely changed the way that I look at life, both mine and hers, and it has humbled me in ways that I can’t even fully comprehend. Because of that, I have tried to really be purposefully thankful – to acknowledge the people and circumstances in my life that bless me beyond comprehension. Those are the easy moments to be thankful for.

On the other hand, in the moments of life that aren’t full of sunshine and rainbows, there are still things to be thankful for – like….. hey, sorry you charred dinner to a crisp – aren’t you thankful there’s take out (which is in no way directed to my husband – nope, not at all……. :)). And of course the moments where it seems impossible to find anything good at all. I think that most of us have far more of those moments, where we are trying to find the positive in the hard stuff, or just ordinary stuff, of life.

So, this year, starting January 1, I am resolving to write, every day, a list of things I am thankful for. All of them will be things for which I am genuinely thankful, but they may have varying amounts of exasperation mixed in. I may also do some other blogging, but I’ll at least promise you a list each day.

I would also love to hear your lists, and hope you’ll leave comments. I am a total comment whore and it will make my day, and then you can be added to my list of things I’m thankful for. Come on, you know you want to………

Love,
Jen
